The task may not be easy, especially when traveling many hours straight, so it’s important to keep them busy.
TOYS ARE A MUST
Take along some favorite toys. They are tested and guaranteed will entertain the child. Furthermore, it will give him the feeling of comfort of something he already knows.
You can also bet on some surprises, perhaps a new toy. The novelty will also entertain them for a while.
Just keep in mind not to pack noisy toys. Respect the peace of other travelers.
LETTERS TO PACK
Some children’s books can also be very useful while traveling. They are a great entertainment, whether read alone or together with the parents. They are great for bedtime or while waiting for a ride.
Apps and tablets can be a perfect entertaining for the younger, but the whole purpose of traveling with children is spending quality time with them … without being hooked to a screen and losing all experiences.
So, avoid connecting your devices when you are in their presence. If they are too habituated to them it’s quite possible they throw a good old fashion tantrum. But be patient, they’ll soon see that they’re a bunch of other things to entertain them.
TIME WELL SPEND
Remember when traveling alone or with friends? We wanted to always do as much as possible in the time we had. We ran from one place to another.
With children it’s not like that. Don’t make them travel long distances without some rest. They will be tired quickly and start getting angry.
Plan the sites you want to visit and merge it with some time to play and breaks to eat some snacks … or sweets.
VISITS FOR ALL
And since we’re talking about places to see, don’t plan your schedule only with sites that children may not have particular interest. Visit some of the tourist attractions or more traditional museums, but don’t forget other places, as a local fair, a garden or an amusement park. I’m sure you’ll also have some fun. A lot!
